4. Shark ION XL

Shark's top self-emptying robot vacuum The ION XL is an excellent option for those who want hands-off cleaning with the highest level of performance. I tried the ION XL in a family and kitchen room with hardwood flooring, area rugs and a standard debris test. It also did a great job in maneuvering around my bar stools and did not bump into them as the iRobot J7+ did during this test. The only issue is that the ION XL is unable to detect cords, toys and shoes that may be in its path therefore you'll need to pre-clean your house before using this vacuum to stay clear of these items.

The ION XL robotic cleaner isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot j7+, but it's an excellent alternative if you don't want to spend over $500 on a robot. It is better than the eufy RoboVac 11S in most ways, including being more easy to maintain and incurring lower recurring expenses. It's also better at vacuuming bare flooring and picking up pet fur, but not as good on low- or carpets with higher pile.

It is also not as well-built as the Roborock S8, but it is still a solid alternative. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, it can be controlled with an app and voice commands, and is easy to keep up with routine maintenance. It's also a good price.
