What are valorant ranks? We've taken a deep dive into the Valorant ranking system, to show you how they work, and what the current distribution is. Like all competitive FPS games, Valorant has a couple of different ways it measures ranking progress. Each player has an overall Valorant rank, but there's also a dedicated 'Act rank'. On top of that, there's also a concept called 'rank rating', which is connected to MMR. Here's everything you need to know about valorant ranks, the current rank distribution, and competitive play.

All valorant ranks in order include: Iron 1-3, Bronze 1-3, Silver 1-3, Gold 1-3, Platinum 1-3, Diamond 1-3, Ascendant 1-3, Immortal 1-3, and Radiant.

Your Act rank is officially the highest-ranked win of that act, shown as a triangle badge filled with your best wins. Even if you hover in Gold, a win in Diamond 1 means you'll get Diamond rewards for that act. This gives meaning to climbing valorant ranks beyond just grinding.

According to Vstats, the current rank distribution is as follows: Silver 1 is the most populated at 9.11%, while Radiant sits at 0.05%. Most players are in Silver or Gold, and only the top 0.1% break into Immortal or Radiant. This reinforces the prestige of high valorant ranks.

You must be level 20 to unlock competitive play. Placement matches determine your starting point. Ranks reset each act, but your hidden MMR carries over. Your performance, win rate, and consistency influence your movement through valorant ranks.
